Yea! A new post!
Wednesday, August 24, 2011 Labels: Kindle, Kindle app, Starfire angels 0 commentsWow it's been awhile (ok-forever) since I posted. And I have done *so much reading* I guess I forgot to blog! Right now my favorite reading device is my iPhone - I actually sold my Kindle because I was never using it. But I love the Kindle app for iPhone which is also available for Android devices. Of course, apple did their sneaky little thing so I can't purchase books from the app anymore (they did this to the nook app too) - trying to get people to turn to iBooks. And no, unfortunently, I just don't care for apple's ebook app. The flicker between page turns is more annoying than the Kindle ever was. So stop your silliness apple! You are great at phones, mp3 devices and easy-to-use computers. Please leave my favorite reading app alone!!!
OK. Rant over.
Next. Currently I am reading Crystal Tomb, the third book in the Starfire Angel series by Melanie Niles. Is this a trilogy? Or will it keep going? No idea. There was a great prequel and another story about a character from the books but not sure about whether this is a 3 book series or not. Be warned: these books are *NOT* professionally edited and the author is not smooth and polished. That may be a bit off-putting if you aren't used to self-published authors, but I feel the general feel of the books is enough to draw me in past that. There are better indie authors out there, and I think Ms. Niles is struggling a bit with this 3rd installment, but I'm going to keep reading, see how it goes. (I care about the characters and that is huge).
The other books I'm interested in right now involve...angels. LOL it's kind of funny - but angel books are very much in the 'hot' ya sections right now.
:)
